1. I had a bit of a scare yesterday because I wasn't feeling Lucy move much at all. The past couple weeks she's been really active and I could pretty much put my hand on a certain part of my belly and she would kick it. Yesterday she was really still and drinking sugary cold drinks, poking her, talking to her..nothing got a response. I went to the doctor after work to be monitored and she immediately kicked the monitor on my belly...of course! I was so glad she was fine, they said she must have just moved positions and now her kicks and wiggles are going towards my back so I'm not able to feel them nearly as much from the front. I think she got tired of me poking her and shining a flashlight on my belly to wake her up and make her move, so she is giving me the finger by rolling over and facing backwards. Hopefully she'll turn again soon, I miss being able to feel her all the time.
2. My friends Darcy and Shelley are flying in today to spend the weekend in Charleston. I haven't seen them in a few months and I'm so excited that they'll be here when I get off work this afternoon.
3. Molly, the World's Worst Cat, apparently has Irritable Bowel Disorder/Chronic Colitis and will require long term antibiotic therapy and expensive grain free canned cat food for life to try to prevent or minimize the episodes of vomiting and bloody diarrhea she's been experiencing daily. I can't trust Rich home alone with her, I'm afraid she'll "wander off" while I'm gone..just kidding..mostly.
4. My latest obsession is couponing and bargain shopping. It's amazing how many of the name-brand products we use all the time that we can now get for free or really really cheap just by being educated on when things are on sale, and using coupons then to really stack the savings. I'm working on a "Couponing is Sexy" post in my head to share with you guys a little of what I've learned the last month.
5. Last night we met with our doula, or birth assistant. I'm hoping for a natural, drug-free birth and she will be there with Rich and I throughout labor and delivery to help out with that. We're also signed up for Breastfeeding Class, Infant CPR Class, and Childbirth Class. I tried to sign up for Newborn Care Class but it was full until July...so anyone have any newborn care tips to share since we can't take the class?
Happy Friday!

Glad Lucy was fine...I can't imagine how scary that would be!
So glad that Lucy was fine! Scary!
I love, love, love coupons - I even go around to differnt websites and print them. Like, last week, we needed TP, so I went to Cottonelle's site and printed a coupon! LOL I'm the coupon queen, but I can't seem to get into the whole, look through the sales ads... But, I do price match with the ads at WalMart. :)
sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the "Couponing is Sexy" post...no, seriously, I am...It's free money people!
yeahhh couponing! david laughs at me, but i totally love it!
She might have just been asleep too. Babies often sleep while their mom is active -- the motion of you is soothing to her and while you'll have to keep on rocking her when she's out of the womb to get her to go to sleep! Plus, as your pregnancy progresses, the movement of the baby changes because she's growing and has less room to kick around in there.
Your couponing will come in handy with all the baby products you'll soon be buying!
have fun with your friends this weekend! nothing like getting together with the old crew to watch them drink in front of you while you're pregnant. eventually the fun will be yours.
ooh that is scary. pregnancy and childbirth are so complicated to me i would probably be scared the whole time :) you are handling it really well! and you've got a lot of support, too, which is awesome.
totally didn't know that about shining a flashlight!!
have a great weekend!!!!
(and i'm sorry to hear about your cat-- booo for sick animals, it's so hard on both you and the pet)
You are a MOM!! FYI babies sleep too :) But I know the worry, it is always on your mind until you feel that kick. Have a great weekend.
Glad to hear the little girl is doing well :)
Coupons are a must sometimes too!
Does that really work with the flashlight? That's hilarious.
Silly baby. Sounds like something my youngest would do.
I had a doula with my first. I'm so glad we did. It made me feel better. I have the Dr. Sears baby book http://www.amazon.com/Baby-Book-Everything-Revised-Updated/dp/0316778001.
I really liked it. Some of the things in it are kind of extreme. But most of it was helpful, esp the part about baby wearing (ie sling).

I remember those scares. I think everyone has them at least once. Glad she cooperated at the dr.
I had a drug free birth with midwives for my second. It was awesome. It's always good to have additional support people. As far as newborns go, you'll get a lot of good advice from the BFing class, plus Dr. Sears has a good website. You'll be amazed how fast you figure things out.
I am happy Lucy is okay!
Sorry to hear about Molly. I hope Rich doesn't get rid of her, or that you find a home for her if you decide to. Poor thing :(
So glad Lucy is okay!!
As far as couponing have you checked out www.southernsavers.com and www.iheartpublix.com ? those are just two of the many sites i use every week! publix is the best and bilo and sometimes harris teeter can be good too. you even score some deals at target too @ www.totallytarget.com ! walmart is sooo NOT the best place to shop anymore!!!
