As I sit here in my comfortable home with food, water and a safe place to sleep I just think about all the people in Haiti who have none of those things right now. I know we can't do everything to help everyone everywhere all the time, but to the people who you are able to help you make all the difference in the world.
I'm going to make a donation tomorrow night, and borrowing from Marlene's previous Comments for Cans campaign I'm having a comment-a-thon here at the Funny Farm. I'll donate $1 for every comment on this post in the next 24 hours. I am planning on just donating directly to the Red Cross but if any of you guys know more about this than I do and know of a different place to donate, I'm open to suggestions. So comment away and spread the word.
Ready, set, bang (that's my starting gun)!

Great idea! Good job for helping out!
This is a wonderful idea. Thank you for doing this.
I texted to the Red Cross. I'm just glued to the TV watching all of this. It's so sad. It makes me feel so thankful for all that we have and guilty that we take it for granted. I'm just in awe of how devastating this is.
Love your idea!!! :)
Thank you for your generous spirit!

GREAT idea!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so happy to be able to comment here.
Awesome!
I donated to Doctors without Borders, but I think any of these (reputable) organizations can use all the help they can get...
Awesome! I gave blood yesterday and did the text $10 for Haiti. Great idea lady!
ohh hope it's within the 24 hour time frame!!
I recommend the Lambi Fund of Haiti. I give to this organization all year round. They are more "2nd responders" than 1st but they help the Haitians rebuild their livelihoods after the initial flood of aid is long gone. Check them out here: www.lambifund.org
Thank you for your spirit of giving!
It's been longer than 24 hours but I'll still leave my two cents. House of Blessings has been providing support for the people in Haiti for a very long time. I was even able to visit Phil and Lonnie in Haiti one summer many moons ago. It's worth checking out if not just to see good things people do for others.
